Security Officer - Safety/Security

Job Summary:
- Protects life and property of all persons on facility premises and patrols facility buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism.
- Secures, unlocks and protects facility buildings.
- Responds to security needs of facility personnel.
- Provides a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities by patrolling the buildings
and grounds of the facility.
- Responds quickly and effectively to emergent and non-emergent situations.
- Ensures that only authorized persons are admitted onto facility premises.
- Escorts visitors, patients and personnel to and from parking areas, if requested.
- Writes accurate, clear and legible incident reports and documents investigatory steps and results.
- Assists and gives courteous responses to any inquiries made by patients, visitors and personnel.
Skills and Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Up to two years of experience in the field of Law Enforcement/Corrections and/or security management preferred.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- No felony theft or assault convictions
- Must be certified in CPR/BLS before probationary period is finished and then recertify Biennially.
