Intensive Care Unit
AVRMC's Intensive Care Unit is currently located on the second floor. Our caring and dedicated nurses are highly qualified and trained to read continuous cardiac monitoring, monitor central venous pressures, and manage arterial lines.
Each patient room is in view of the nurse's station and our ICU nurses are able to devote their time to full patient care with a low patient-to-nurse staffing ratio. Our nurses are ready for any emergency and are current in their Advanced Pediatric and Adult Life Support training. Their skills include the management of IV therapy, life saving medication drips, and Cardioversion as well as providing excellent care for patients on a ventilator. They are also trained to work with our Donor Alliance contact and are able to assist with end of life decisions.
Our ICU Staff takes pride in caring for the needs of our patients and family members in the community.

Comments From Our Patients & Their Families...
"We are so grateful to have a helpful & caring ICU as we do. Thank you for the great care you gave our mom...Thank you all so much! Especially Amy, Judy, Deanna and Kimberly.""I would like to say that everyone that worked in the I.C.U. was great, caring, very skilled professionals. Their care doesn't stop with the patient, it continues on to the patient's family and friends. I spent most of my time there day and night and if I needed anything for my wife or myself, all I had to do was ask. The entire I.C.U. staff always had a smile and such a good attitude."
"There are not words to accurately express my gratitude for the excellent care you provided for my father. Your efficiency, warmth & compassion were amazing and I will always be grateful to all of you."
